The PJ News article about the rioters in London targeting pharmacies is emphasising the absurdity of this senseless charade (1). When you consider this in conjunction with the report in GP that GPs and practice staff have also been targeted (2), you start to wonder what this nonsense is all about.
This riots are damaging the community infrastructures which are the lifeblood of these areas. It has to stop and the sooner the better.
The advice by the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee Steve Lutener is: “Pharmacists’ first priority must be the safety of their staff and their patients, so pharmacies must close where patients or staff are at risk.”
Take advice from police and keep yourself and patients safe.
